New Delhi. In a major breakthrough in the robbery of approximately ₹1.5 crore in cash in the national capital, the Delhi Police have arrested five accused. Police claim to have recovered around ₹1 crore from the accused during the investigation.
According to the police, the incident took place on the evening of September 7 on the Outer Ring Road near the Geeta Colony flyover. The complainant was traveling in an auto-rickshaw with an associate from Chandni Chowk to Safdarjung Enclave. He was carrying a bag containing approximately ₹1.5 crore in cash.
While they were en route, bike-borne miscreants intercepted the auto-rickshaw. The accused allegedly threatened the two men with weapons and fled the spot with the bag containing the cash. Following the incident, the police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
During the investigation, police identified the suspects and arrested five individuals. Around ₹1 crore was recovered following their interrogation and subsequent investigation. Police are now working to recover the remaining amount and are probing the involvement of other individuals, as well as the alleged conspiracy behind the robbery.
