Dehradun. A crucial phase of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ campaign, launched to increase youth participation in Uttarakhand’s development, will be held on September 18. During the event, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will interact with 140 selected students from across the state and hear their ideas and suggestions on the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
The initiative goes beyond a direct interaction between the Chief Minister and students. On the Chief Minister’s instructions, senior IAS officers and heads of various government departments have also been tasked with engaging with the selected students. Before meeting the Chief Minister, these officials will hold discussions with the students to better understand their vision and suggestions.
Over 2.67 Lakh Students Submitted Suggestions
Around three lakh students from Classes 11 and 12 across the state participated in the campaign. Of these, 267,744 students shared their views on the future of Uttarakhand through an online platform. Their suggestions covered a wide range of issues, including education, employment, tourism, the environment, migration, technology, healthcare, and self-employment.
A team of experts selected 140 students based on the ideas and suggestions submitted during the campaign. These students will now have the opportunity to present their vision directly to the Chief Minister.
Discussions with IAS Officers Also Planned
To connect the youth’s ideas with policies across various sectors, officials from departments including Education, Health, Forest and Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self-Employment, and Women and Child Development will interact with the students.
During these discussions, officials will seek to understand the students’ perspectives on development, employment opportunities, and future prospects in Uttarakhand.
Scholarships of up to ₹2 Lakh for 140 Students
Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ campaign, 140 selected students will receive scholarships of up to ₹2 lakh to support career preparation and coaching after Class 12. Chief Minister Dhami announced this financial assistance during the launch of the campaign for students who submitted outstanding and meaningful ideas.
Focus on Integrating Youth Suggestions into Government Schemes
Chief Minister Dhami has said that efforts will be made to incorporate meaningful suggestions received from students into government policies and development schemes. He has emphasized that understanding the ideas and innovations of young people can help shape Uttarakhand’s future development.
The September 18 event will mark another important stage of the initiative, giving selected students an opportunity to present their ideas directly to the Chief Minister and participate in discussions with senior officials on various development-related issues.
