Jaipur. Police have registered an FIR against building owner Anand Sethi following a massive fire at Sethi Complex, located in Minhari Ji Ka Katla at Badi Chaupar, Jaipur. The police report alleges illegal construction in the building, non-functional fire safety equipment, the absence of a Fire NOC (No Objection Certificate), and narrow, obstructed access routes.

According to police, the fire, which broke out on the second floor of the complex, continued to rage for approximately 13 hours. As the flames spread rapidly, goods stored in several shops and warehouses were engulfed. Firefighters had to carry out a prolonged operation to bring the blaze under control.

The report states that fire tenders also faced difficulties reaching the complex. Narrow and obstructed pathways hindered access to the site, forcing firefighters to rely on temporary arrangements to tackle the blaze.

Affected establishments include Satnam Madan Traders, Jitendra/Kamal, Kamal Agarwal, Shailendra Agarwal, Rajesh, Hasan, Ramesh/Rajesh, Rakesh Gupta's Vimal Hosiery Agency, Chhotumai Purushottam, Ashok Kumar Sharma, and Vikas Sharma, among others. Shops numbered 201-A through 206-A were also affected. Vimal Hosiery Agency alone is estimated to have suffered losses of around ₹65–70 lakh, while damage to the other shops is still being assessed.

The FIR was registered based on a report filed by Sub-Inspector Narendra. Station House Officer (SHO) Rakesh Khalia has been assigned the investigation. Police will now examine the building's construction, fire safety equipment, Fire NOC status, and other safety arrangements.
